ECAPS Appoints Brigadier General (Ret) Lars Helmrich to Board of Directors

Today, ECAPS AB announces the appointment of Brigadier General (Ret) Lars Helmrich to its Board of Directors.

General Helmrich has extensive experience across military aviation, defense procurement, and program leadership within Sweden’s defense establishment. Most recently, General Helmrich served as Director of Air and Space Systems Division within the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), coordinating procurement efforts to bolster Sweden’s national aerospace capabilities.

A member of the Royal Swedish Academy of War Sciences, General Helmrich’s career includes senior roles across the Swedish Armed Forces and FMV, where he has been involved in the development and management of complex defense capabilities. He has served as Head of Gripen Project Management at FMV, with responsibility for the coordination and long-term development of Sweden’s air combat capability, including collaboration across government, industry, and international partners.

Brigadier General Lars Helmrich commented:

“ECAPS represents a well-established and credible actor within the aerospace sector. As requirements continue to evolve across both space and defense domains, technologies enabling mobility and operational flexibility will remain essential. I look forward to contributing to the company’s continued development in an international context.”

As ECAPS continues its strategic scale-up to power advanced operations across all defence-critical environments, General Helmrich will contribute to this cause.

“We welcome General Helmrich to ECAPS,” said the Board of Directors. “With a proven record of leadership and defence expertise, his support will further ECAPS’s mission as a global provider of advanced propulsion capabilities.”
